Numerous photographers – both professional and amateurs – are switching to the new SLR cameras. These cameras are known as a hybrid camera which shoots both still and video known as ‘single lens reflex’ (SLR) cameras. Most of these cameras come with a special digital SLR camera bag that is specifically designed to hold the larger, odd shaped camera and different lenses plus memory cards, extra batteries and sometimes room for a laptop for processing the video and photographs.
For years, consumers have been able to shoot video on their point-and-shoot cameras, and many offered decent quality. The advantage of an SLR camera is that the imaging chip is much larger, which produces a dramatically sharper video. Plus, with the SLR, there are more choices for high-end lenses instead of the cheaper lenses one would find with the point-and-shoot cameras.
Today, there are no more ‘regular’ cameras on the market, everything is digital, even the disposable cameras one finds in the drugstores can be digital, although there are still a couple that are ‘regular’ style cameras that produce a photograph, many more are switching to digital. Digital is cheaper for the manufacturer because they don’t have to carry the cost of paper or developing solutions which can become pretty pricey when all is said and done.
Photographers like digital cameras because of the instant gratification they provide in seeing the photograph right after it was shot, that way, if the shot was missed – someone had their eyes closed or someone moved – the photographer could retake the photo without having to miss it entirely, which is what happened when people would have to send their film away or take it to be developed somewhere, the chance for a ‘do-over’ was gone.
Furthermore, a digital camera case comes in many different styles and types designed for the larger, bulkier cameras and all the gear that goes along with it. There are ‘fanny pack’ styles, backpack and saddle bag styles along with traditional camera cases, each with unique attributes that will help make a photographers life a little easier when lugging their camera and gear across the country or around the town park.
