A company that allows people to sell gold for cash could increase their revenue by opening an online store in addition to their real-world brick-and-mortar location.  Having a web presence as well as your real-world store allows a business to increase their customer database and their income to include more customers because more customers turn to the Internet to search for what they need or want above all other media combined.

People no longer look at the phone book because it only offers a phone number to call for more information; newspapers and magazines only offer slightly more information than the telephone book and radio and television advertisements are usually reserved for big-budget productions of major brands that everyone has already seen and are usually cost prohibitive for small businesses.

The Internet allows a company that is selling gold jewelry, such as a pawn shop, to place keyword rich articles on their website in order to attract more customers in addition to the three major search engines – MSN, Yahoo!, and Google.  These three major search engines send out their “feelers” so that they might locate the keywords and keyword phrases within the articles and among the websites and then rank the websites according to a special formula.  The special formula is only known to the three major search engines; however it is known that it is based on the number of keywords and keyword phrases on a website.  Keywords and keyword phrases are the words potential customers use in the search boxes on the search engines to find what they need or want.

Another marketing method a pawn shop could undertake would be blogging.  Blogs placed on a pawn shop website could act as a place where former customers or existing customers blog about their experiences with this particular pawn shop.  This is a sort of testimonial to their experiences with the pawn shop.  Every business should have testimonials on their website because potential customers like to read what former customers have to say about a company they are about to do business with.

Additionally, blogging on other websites would also help bring in new customers in addition to helping raise a pawn shop’s search engine ranking.  Some blogs allow blogging for free while others charge a small fee.

In these economic hard times many people are turning to selling Gold jewelry to make extra money to pay bills and make ends meet when there is not enough cash.

There are two ways a person could sell gold jewelry.  In order to receive cash instantly, one would have to take their gold jewelry to a place such as a Boston pawn shop which is a real-world brick and mortar style business and it would weigh and measure the jewelry and obtain its fair market value and then offer the customer a price to either purchase the jewelry out right or make a loan on the jewelry.  Pawn shops are in the business of either loaning money or purchasing items; the choice is up to the individual bringing in the items.

The first option is a pawn shop could purchase gold jewelry out right and the customer never sees the jewelry again because the jewelry is then placed in the for-sale cases at the pawn shop where other people shop to get bargain prices on jewelry.  The second way a pawn shop operates is as a loan company.  Many people are taking the option of a loan from a pawn shop because there are no credit checks and no fees in order to receive a loan.  A person brings in something of value to the pawn shop, such as gold jewelry, and the pawn shop evaluates worth and then gives that amount to the person and holds the piece of jewelry for a designated amount of time. At the end of that period of time, the customer can either bring back the money with interest to receive their jewelry back; or if they do not bring the money back than the pawn shop is free to sell the item to receive their money back.

Years ago many people thought they would never find themselves in a pawn shop; however with today’s bad economy more and more people are finding themselves in a pawn shop either shopping for valuables for themselves or as gifts or using the pawn shop as a way to earn extra income.  Pawn shops are filled with items such as jewelry; musical instruments like guitars and keyboards; small appliances such as toaster ovens and microwaves; electronics like televisions, computers and printers and odds and ends such as digital cameras, handguns, sporting goods and bicycles and exercise equipment and just about anything of value.
